Our Home Indoor Reno: One Year On – Part One

Our Home Indoor Reno: One Year On – Part One

This renovation has been quite different from our past projects. Instead of diving in all at once, we’ve taken a more staged approach — working room by room as time and budget allow. With our focus also on growing Victoria Jane, every dollar counts, and like any startup, it’s required constant reinvestment to scale.

We began indoors with the guest suite.

I designed our Regal Harmony” wallpaper specifically for this space — soft, serene, and welcoming. Rather than gutting the existing bathroom, we chose to elevate it with thoughtful, budget-friendly touches.

In collaboration with a peel-and-stick tile brand, we selected tile that complemented the wallpaper beautifully. A new vanity, brushed brass tapware, towel rails, and accessories gave the space a gentle, luxe feel without a full remodel.

In the guest bathroom, we added fresh paint, new curtains and blinds, a champagne-hued glass chandelier, statement artwork, and an oversized mirror.

It’s a calm, peaceful retreat for visitors — I may revisit the styling later with more Victoria Jane touches, but for now, it’s just right.

The Powder Room

Then came the boldest room so far: the powder room. We went all in here — painted it a dramatic black, added our Victoria Jane Peony Bird ceiling mural, vintage mirrors, and wrought iron art. The brushed brass fixtures tie it all together in a rich, moody statement space.

Laundry Room

Next was the laundry — and surprisingly, it’s become one of my favourite rooms!

We repurposed furniture into built-in cabinets, tiled the bench and splashback with Roma Tiling (another fun collab), and used our Striped Blush and Birdcage Blush wallpapers to bring in colour and charm.

The bowl sink I chose sparked major conversation on TikTok — almost 40,000 views and a mix of opinions — but I love it! It’s different, and it works for me.

Entrance Way

The entranceway has had a warm lift thanks to our collaboration with Wood Veneer Hub — their vertical oak wall panels add instant texture and elegance.

Eventually, we’ll open up this space to let more light flow into the living areas, creating what I call “American open-plan living.”

Next Project: Sunroom

Now I’m working on the sunroom — a small but soulful space. It houses a toy chest for the grandkids, but I also wanted it to be a sunny nook for reading and relaxing.

We created a peach-toned feature wall using textured stick-on tiles (sealed and painted), styled with art from our Si Belle collection, and added oak floating shelves in collaboration with many.

We’ve just installed plantation shutters from [partner name], another exciting collab that has brought the space to life.

I truly love partnering with forward-thinking brands — their creativity and craftsmanship help us make each space feel like “us.” Can’t wait to share what’s next!

Share with us what you think and if this had helped you. We’d love to hear your feedback and what we can talk about next. 💞
