One of the most important things we do at V For Hair is listen. Before we start thinking about what we want to do to your hair, we want to understand what you want from it.

What isn't working? What do you love? What do you hate?

How much time do you spend styling it? How frequently are you prepared to maintain your colour?

Do you want a dramatic change or something subtle? Are you fighting your natural texture every morning? Is your colour making you feel washed out?

Sometimes clients know exactly what they want. Sometimes they simply know their current hair isn't working. Both are perfectly fine. Our job is to listen, assess and guide you.

We don't believe in one size fits all hairdressing. Two women can bring us exactly the same photograph and require two completely different approaches.

We consider your face shape, features, skin undertone, natural colouring, hair texture, density, condition, growth patterns, previous chemical history and lifestyle — then we interpret the look for you.

This personalised approach runs through everything we do, from the placement of a fringe to the tone of a blonde, and from enhancing natural grey to creating vibrant fashion colour. The person always comes before the process.

Colour is an enormous part of what we do at V For Hair. Our experienced colour team works across beautiful blondes, dimensional brunettes, coppers, reds, fashion colours, highlights, glossing and major colour corrections.

We also have extensive experience working with clients who have colour problems — brassiness, banding, overly dark colour, uneven blonde, colour buildup and patchiness.

Great colour isn't simply about choosing a shade. It is about understanding the foundation underneath it, the condition of the hair, the client's colouring and how the finished result will wear over time.

V For Hair has also become particularly known for grey hair transitions and grey blending. Clients come to us looking for a different approach to constantly covering regrowth.

For some, that means embracing beautiful natural silver. For others, it means creating a softer transition between natural grey and existing colour, or keeping colour but changing the way it is designed so regrowth becomes considerably easier to manage.

Grey hair isn't something we believe needs to be hidden. It is another colour to work with creatively.

A beautiful hairstyle starts with an excellent haircut. Hair cutting has always been fundamental to the V For Hair philosophy.

We consider face shape, profile, texture, density, natural movement, lifestyle and home styling before designing the cut. We particularly love precision cutting, short hair, bobs, restyles and creating shapes that help clients get more from their natural hair.

A haircut shouldn't only look fantastic when your hairdresser styles it. It needs to work when you style it too.

Hairdressing continually evolves, but we also believe some incredibly valuable skills should never be lost.

Our experience extends across specialist services including professional perming, modern body waves, style support, smoothing treatments and permanent straightening, alongside contemporary cutting and colouring.

We combine traditional technical knowledge with modern products, techniques and fashion — because sometimes the newest idea in hairdressing is actually an established technique used in a completely new way.

We love transformations. But not at any cost. When colour correcting, lightening, smoothing, straightening or undertaking another significant chemical service, the integrity of your hair must be considered.

Sometimes that means performing a strand test, changing the formulation, or creating a transformation over several appointments. Occasionally it means saying that we don't believe a particular service should be performed on your hair right now.

We would rather give you professional advice than compromise the condition of your hair. Beautiful colour means very little if the hair underneath it isn't beautiful too.

Having decades of experience doesn't mean doing hair the way it was done decades ago. Hairdressing changes constantly — products improve, techniques evolve, fashion changes, and the way women want to wear and maintain their hair changes.

We believe experience is most valuable when it is combined with curiosity. Vicki and the V For Hair team continue to learn, experiment, educate and evolve while retaining the technical foundations that excellent hairdressing is built upon.

Experience gives us the foundation. Creativity keeps us moving forward.

Hairdressing is an incredibly personal business. Clients trust us with their appearance, their confidence and often some fairly complicated hair histories. We never take that trust for granted.

We want every V For Hair client to feel welcomed, listened to and comfortable asking questions. If you don't understand what we are recommending, ask us. If you are nervous, tell us. If something hasn't worked for you previously, we want to know.

There is no judgement. There is simply a conversation about where you are now and where you would like to go.

Many of our clients come to V For Hair because they are looking for expertise. They may have difficult hair, need a colour correction, be considering embracing grey, or want a completely new haircut.

They may have struggled to find someone who understands short hair, want a perm when other salons no longer offer them, or simply want a hairdresser who will sit down, listen properly and make recommendations.
