Vicki’s experience as both a precision cutter and perm specialist means she considers where the volume needs to sit, where weight may need to be removed and how the curls will fall once the hair is dry.

Fine hair doesn’t automatically mean you cannot have a perm. In fact, one of the reasons clients consider permanent waving is because their fine hair lacks natural volume and movement.
The key is assessing the condition of the hair and choosing an appropriate technique. We are particularly conscious of maintaining hair condition. If we do not believe your hair is suitable for perming, we will tell you.
Our priority is not simply getting you through a perm appointment. It is making sure you still have beautiful hair afterwards.
Can You Perm Coloured Hair?
Sometimes, but this needs to be assessed individually. Your colour history is extremely important when considering any chemical service.
During your consultation, please tell us about previous colouring, highlighting, bleaching, straightening or other chemical services, including services that may have been performed some time ago.
Hair integrity comes first. If we believe your hair needs treatment or time before perming, we will recommend that rather than compromising the condition of your hair.

We Assess Before We Perm
Your Perm Consultation
We strongly believe in consultation before specialised chemical services.
Your consultation gives us the opportunity to assess your hair, talk about
your previous chemical history and understand what you actually want
your finished hair to look like.
Bring inspiration photographs if you have them. They are incredibly helpful
because words such as “loose”, “curly”, “wavy” and “natural” can mean
completely different things to different people. We can then discuss what is
realistically achievable with your particular hair.
If we don’t think a perm is suitable, we will tell you. If we think a slightly
different curl, haircut or technique would give you a better result, we will
explain why. That is the benefit of working with an experienced perm

How long does a perm last?
A perm can generally last several months, but this varies according to your hair, curl type, haircut, growth and home care. Because the internal structure of the treated hair has been changed, the curl gradually becomes softer as the hair grows and the hairstyle changes.
Will my perm look like an ’80s perm?
Only if that is what you want! Modern perming can create everything from soft body and movement through to defined curls. The technique should be selected according to the finished look you want.
Can a perm give fine hair more volume?
